WHY CHOOSE STEELCREST HIGH SCHOOL
Every day when you go to school, how do you know you are getting the right education? Is it the quality education you would like to have offered to you? I go to Steelcrest High, where I benefit from good schooling and have fun at the same time. Many people ask: "Why Steelcrest?" Well, that is simple and plain to see...
Steelcrest offers you the best in quality education (our matric results are proof of that), and here, school is never boring with the modern subject choices available. The subjects are placed in specific categories so that you can choose a category that will complement your future career.
Why should school be boring? Get involved in our 'hands-on' subjects. Join a class in the Metalwork Centre or cook up culinary delights in our well-equipped restaurant and kitchen. Have fun and learn to master the art of cooking delicious food in our famous 'Super Chef' competitions. We have a Media Centre where information for your school projects is readily available. Our Computer Centre takes our school's technology into the new millennium, where you can complete a course in Computer Studies and surf the internet.
Pupils and teachers at Steelcrest are always friendly, and if you are a new 'bird to the flock', they will take you under their wing. Steelcrest provides a number of cultural activities. You could join the Debating Society, the Drama Group, the choir, or take part in a school production. In the afternoons, our sports fields are always alive. At Steelcrest, there is a sport for everyone: rugby, girls’ and boys’ hockey (which we are very proud of and well known for), boys’ and girls’ cricket, tennis, squash, netball, and golf teams for both girls and boys.
Steelcrest also stands for fun. We have many social events and make the very best of them: a Valentine's Day Ball, a Winter Ball, an eventful Spring Day and Spring Ball, and a Debs' Ball. Don't let your high school years be wasted. Don’t make the wrong choice and later wish you had an on-the-edge school life like we have here at Steelcrest — rather come and join us. Come to Steelcrest, and come live your life to the full!
